Pretty Pink Peonies
I’m so in love with this Haute Hippie Maxi Skirt right now, not only because of the way it feels on, but, because it reminds me of pink peonies, one of my favorite flowers. Did you know Pink Peonies are the twelfth wedding anniversary flower? So to you fans out there that have a twelfth wedding anniversary coming up..hint, hint! Plus, Peonies are considered a symbol of good fortune and happy married life.
Anyways, aside from the print details, here are some of the reasons why I love this skirt. First, the skirt is full, and perfectly long for my height. My long legs are a challenge with outfit lengths sometimes, so I get really excited when I find items that are the perfect length. Secondly, the fabric is very soft and free flowing. And Oh, it has pockets as well, making it that much fun and easy to wear…yaaasss!
On this rather sweltering Dallas day…nothing out of the ordinary, I might add. I combined this fabulously, vibrant, printed maxi skirt with a pink top, which gives the whole ensemble more ‘pop’. Not my usual MO, though. Normally, I would opt for an off white top to tone down the vibrancy of this skirt…nothing wrong with that! But I was in a ‘vibrant summer kinda mood’, so to speak…hehe.
Consequently, to tie it all in and keep the vibrancy of my outfit contained, I wore it with nude pumps, and carried a muted, dusty Rose colored shoulder bag.
I love belts, love the cinch and definition it gives to my waist line, so I added this Linea Pelle cream colored belt, also seen here.
Did I mention that I love this skirt, and the way it makes me feel? I feel very feminine, light, and free because of the full, flowy, and very soft fabric.
How else would you style this?
