Because sequins are bold and eye catching, they are by convention, reserved for the holiday season and night life. Time to live outside the box, have some fun and #wearwhatyoulike whenever you want to…within reason of course. The key to not looking so out of place with day time sequins, is to play down the sequined item of your choosing by pairing with another item(s) like denim, blazer, caption tee, or sneaks to mute and ground the sparkly sequins. How to add sequins to your daytime style (OOTD)
Today, I decided to up the ante on my casual, classic jean and white top look. I did that by layering this cowl neck, sequin sleeveless top over a mesh/lace long sleeve top. Though, I have had that top for a few years and just recently styled it, and I love how it turned out. In addition, I have previously worn these jeans, but did not write a blog on it…I have very few blogs on jeans, that might change.
Anyways, you have previously seen the pumps and bag here here, and here. I found the blazer a couple of years ago at a vintage store, here in Dallas. Finally, the bullion crested blazer adds an effortless sophistication to my look…found this one in this season’s trending corduroy pattern.
Alternative Styling Tips
- Style as above, substituting the jeans for these high wasted pencil skirt.
- Ditch the sequined top for this sequined skirt instead. Add some edgy sophistication with these
- Go casually glam by styling your denim with this sequined sweatshirt. I especially love this one.
- Try a bit more muted sequin look by adding sequined accessories like this and this to your look
What are your thoughts on this look? How else would you style it? However you choose to style it, own it and rock it with poise and confidence!
Thanks so much for stopping by, see you next week…Ciao!!!!
