Lady in red is dancing with me.🎼

Today I’m on fire, so to speak… Haha. Hope you had a fabulous week.
Red stands for boldness, strength and a lady who is not afraid of attention. I am wearing red as a nod to the just celebrated international women’s day (IWD). Celebrated on March 8, it commemorates the movement for women’s rights, and pays tribute to the achievements of women, socially, culturally, politically, and otherwise. IWD has been celebrated for over a century, and is reserved as a day to celebrate the unity, and strength, decisiveness, imaginative, and pioneering spirit we represent as women. This year’s theme is “be bold for change”.

Cropped Pants + Waist Cinching Contour Belt (OOTD)

Red is a color that evokes boldness, strength. I wanted to create the look of a lady not afraid of attention…a  confident, bold, and sexy vibe, so I chose this red cropped pants + waist cinching contour belt. This waist cinching contour belt is one of my favorite belts. See another contour waist cinching belt here. I love the waist definition is gives plus the fact that it flares out into a peplum-like look that is quite feminine and and flattering to my silhouette.

Further, to soften my look, I went with this red lace top, that is subtly sheer, but modest. Over sized jackets are a go to for that cool-girl look, so I reached into my closet for these slightly larger fitted (oversize) blazer, and finished my look with this oversized bow handbag. Finally, I kept my makeup classy and muted to avoid distraction.

Alternative Styling Tips

Styling Red Can be a tad bit challenging for some, reason being that Red calls for a bit of attention. In that case, to tone down, I would suggest styling the cropped pants with an off white top, or better yet, a gray top, which is great for in-between seasons. On the other hand, if you don’t mind the attention, style as above but trade the black pumps for some nude ones, a shoulder bag or clutch, and roll up the jacket sleeves for that effortless chic look.

Alternatively, pair the pants with a tailored or mens shirt, toss the waist cincher for a slim belt, and a clutch for that androgynous chic look (like here). Remember…however, you choose to style it, own it and rock it with poise and confidence!

Ciao…!

I’m so in love with the red theme you’ve got going here. I’m one of those people who run away from red, and I don’t know why. I can’t get over your legs in those cropped pants. ๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜
