Welcome back Lovelies!
I am super excited to style this Poncho coat. I have always wanted one, however, I hadn’t found THE ONE, and when I did, I had no desire to pay full price. Alas! I finally, found one recently, and at a really good sale price. The icing on the cake is that it’s from my favorite brand, BCBGMaxazria. How awesome is that!
Ponchos are a closet must have…they never go out of style, so you have a classic outfit to wear year after year. Ponchos are also, surprisingly very easy to style. They can make you look, chic, elegant, and polished. I specially love this one because of it’s many gorgeous hues, which makes it easy, and very versatile to style. I will be restyling it come fall, so keep your eyes peeled.
How to style a Poncho-Fashionably
Today, I’m sharing how to style a Poncho-Fashionably. Because the Poncho lends to a loose silhouette, which I’m not a great fan of, I added a belt for waist definition, and I opted for the light colored belt as a contrast to the background of the deep beautiful hues of the Poncho. For a little edginess, I decided to go with this leopard print Power skirt. See my previous post on styling animal print here. The turtle neck was also previously styled here.
In addition, for added sassiness, I’m wearing this BCBGMaxazria wool hat, cocked to the side. The faux fur trimmed leather gloves serves two purposes. First, as a fashion statement, and secondly to keep my fingers warm. I carried the slouchy Givenchy nightingale handbag because the slouchiness works best with loose silhouette of the Poncho as opposed to a structured bag.
Alternative Styling Tips
My take on other styling tips. Ponchos are versatile pieces, you can wear them as I did with the belt to define the waste line, or simply lose the belt and drape it over your shoulder as a cover-up. On the other hand, wear them with skinny pants and knee high boots if that is more your style, or over shorts and knee high boots for more sex appeal. Alternatively, Ponchos can be styled over a sheath dress and pumps for a more classic/modern look. Which ever way you style it, own it and rock it confidently with an attitude!
Ciao…see you soon!
P.S. Help me wish a happy birthday to my first Prince!

Where you been girl ? welcome to the cape/poncho gang. This style pieces got me for life. They ooze class, sophistication and chic. I love the way you styled yours on the skirt. I’ve never been that brave to style with a skirt cos I’m on the big side. I must agree the belt does put a locker on things. Great styling and styling tips.
Thank you gorgeous! I am definitely glad I finally found a poncho. I’m sure it’ll look great if you style it with a belt
Your layering game is on point, love the hat and the poncho.
