#makeupfreemonday with a Mile high slit!
Welcome back loves!
So this weekend was my daughter’s homecoming dance. Unfortunately, I had to work so she and her friends were left to their own devices…scary thought, I know! Anyways, she decided to join her friends for the pre-dance preparations. And guess what? You guessed it…she raids my make up bag, which was totally fine, see here. Problem is…as I was prepping for this photo shoot, and when I discovered my makeup bag had been raided by ‘you know who’, I marched into her room to reclaim my stuff only to be informed that she forgot them at so and so’s place.
What!!!? My first instinct was to panic, but I kept my cool. Prior to this though, we had talked about making a #makeupfree blog post, after all Alecia Keys (who started the #nomakeup movement), and many other celebrities are going without makeup. So, why the heck not!
Even so, until the recently, shortly before launching my blog that is, it was not unusual for me to dress up, and leave home sans make up without thinking twice. Nonetheless, I now thoroughly enjoy and love the art of makeup application. Back to my point…so as I was prepping for this photo shoot and when I discovered my makeup bag had been raided by ‘you know who’, I marched into her room to reclaim my stuff only to be informed she forgot them at so and so’s place.
Anyhow, today I’m wearing no make up and a Paisley Print, long sheath dress in #ankara fabric (here and here) with fabulous billowing sleeves and a mile high slit…yeah baby! This simple, yet elegant dress was custom made for me by @mabeledeko quite a few years ago, and was one of my favorites. I styled it with this Marc Jacobs quilted purse in one of my favorite colors, and a statement necklace. For shoes, I’m wearing an old pair of Vince Camuto open-toe sling back heels.
Finally, to tie up the look, I went with this BCBG Maxazria belt, previously styled here…bet you knew that’s coming. Love the silhouette definition belts provide. Hope this inspires you to go #makeupfree. What do you think?

Mile high slit for real. I hope you got your make up back Viv. Ha ha, happens to me too. Such a gorgeous maxi dress and beautiful necklace to go with it. You look divine!!! I hope your daughter had fun at the homecoming.
