Hellooo Loves!
Runway Fashion, Street Style Look
Today, I am super excited to style what I call, this Runway Fashion Street Style look. This dress tho! BCBG Maxazria runway plaid Tartan taffeta beauty! of a dramatic masterpiece. I so love this dress…loved it from the very first time I saw it and I still do. Although I’ve owned it for a few years now, I’ve only worn it for a couple of times. My daughter has also shared in it’s glory…she actually wore it once with some nicks and tucks here and there.
The rich Oxblood/burgundy hue of the dress, the fabric choice of tartan/taffeta mix, the flare and the ruches created by tucks, strategically sewn into the bodice of the dress all add up to create a dramatic masterpiece! The full skirt even comes with bustle to hold up the subtle train or high/low cut! As I have probably mentioned before, Max azria can do no wrong in my book… the brand look is always fresh, fashion forward, and modern with added daring styles that create the most flattering silhouettes (to me anyway). This dress is one of the reasons why.
Today’s Look (OOTD)
Today I’m actually wearing it in two slightly different looks. First, for an uber chic look, I styled it with these buckle up booties, which I previously styled here. For extra warmth, and a bit more relaxed urban look I have on, a contrasting army green hooded sleeveless shawl, cape coat that I also previously styled here.
Why this sleeveless Shawl cape coat? Well, because the cut still ensured that the ruched and bustle details on the dress remain exposed…not trying to hide this beauty under a coat, hehe. The cape coat also lends a bit more relaxed urban vibe while covering my exposed shoulders from the elements.
Secondly, because the dress exudes some edginess all it’s own, I opted for these spiked high heeled booties, which definitely ups the amp on the edgy chic look. I have also previously styled these boots here.
Finally, in an effort to keep the attention solely on this dress, I am wearing minimal jewelry. However, I chose this chocker to tie in the edgy, but chic look.
Alternative Styling Tips
An alternative would be to style this dress with a nude or oxblood/burgundy pumps or ankle booties for a more sexy look. The chocker can be exchanged for either a statement necklace or a dainty piece of jewelry. A clutch would be perfect for an evening look, or a handbag for daytime look. In addition, as cover, a dark brown or black Bolero jacket would go fabulously well with the look.
