Hello Lovelies! Happy Memorial Day and a huge thank you to our Military and their families for the huge sacrifices they have made and continue to make!!

Hope you had a fantastic week. I know I did….my one and only daughter turned 18 this past Sunday…yep, she did! If you follow me on IG, you may have seen some pics that I posted. In addition, she will be graduating high school in a couple weeks and going off to college shortly after that. As you can imagine, this is certainly a very bitter-sweet period for me, but gotta stay strong! I’ll take any tips on handling this from y’all.

On another note. Did y’all catch the Royal Wedding? What are your thoughts on the bride’s look? I get how people expected an over the top look…it is after all “the royal wedding’ right? I, on the other hand, appreciated the understated and timeless elegance of her look. Granted, a few nips and tucks here and there might have worked, but overall, I loved it! Amal Clooney, Oprah, and Victoria Beckham were my other favs, in that order. Who were yours?

Moving on to the business at hand. First, allow me to borrow from my previous post here. No look screams feminine, sensual, and romantic quite like lace! It’s no wonder it’s the ultimate wedding dress and lingerie fabric. As a matter of fact, Lace conveys an intense feeling of class and timelessness. Not only that, the 3-D florals of this lace top adds some serious depth to my look.

In addition, I also love the statement sleeves…let’s face it, statement sleeves are here to stay! So, I styled it with this pleated multi slit maxi skirt I have owned for sometime now. As usual for me, to give my waist some definition, I borrowed this belt, you’ve previously seen hereI love the fact that it’s wide, as well as the beautiful contrast it creates with the blue, which is very aesthetically pleasing.

In like manner, to continue with that theme, I carried this Danse Lente bag. First and foremost, I love the play on architecture channeled in this bag. I have previously talked about the merging of fashion and architecture in this post here. Secondly, the playful, half moon shape lends to the intended elegance it evokes, perfect for day to night look.

Finally, I wore this animal print pumps to add some edge and balance the feminine vibe.

Alternative styling tips

  • Go all monochromatic with these heels, bag and belt
  • Ditch the maxi skirt and go for a more streamlined look by pairing with this skirt. Try this one as well. Also obsessing over this one
  • Style as above, but with these instead and these
  • Pair the top with these denim or these instead. On the other hand, I love this one too. Complete your look with this and this

How else would you style this look? However you choose to style it, own it and rock it with poise and confidence!

On a final note, Thanks so much for reading…hope to see you next week…Ciao!!!
