Hello loves!

Edgy Chic!

Welcome back! Depending on which part of the world you identify with, I’m expressing my edgy Chic side in Tartan, Plaid or checkered pattern. Did you know there is a National Tartan day? Yes indeed! April 6th was set aside by congress as National Tartan Day to celebrate Scottish American citizens. Cool huh?I love the idea of setting aside a particular day to celebrate various events. It calls to mind certain important events that may otherwise pass with little notice. For example, even though we ought to be thankful for everyday we are privileged to experience, it’s quite frequently a gift we take for granted. However, having a designated Thanksgiving day, forces us to stop and reflect on a few important things.

How was your Thanksgiving Day celebration? I had a marvelous time with family and friends, not to mention the good eats! At the end of the day, I felt like a stuffed turkey…haha. How do you like your Turkey, stuffed or a side of dressing? I’ma dressing kinda girl…a good ol’ southern cornbread dressing does it for me….yes ma’am! In fact, it’s the highlight of my Thanksgiving meal. I don’t particularly care so much about the bird, however, I make a point to cook for my family. Believe it or not, I cook it all…Phew!

How edgy can you be?

In any case, Today I’m featuring a Tartan leather combo for an edgy chic look. The word Edgy often connotes Goth or  Rocker, but edgy can also be chic and sophisticated. In my opinion, we all possess some edginess within us. The key is the degree to which we choose to explore or express that edginess. These BCBG Maxazria spiked high heel boots kindled that edgy part of me when I saw them a couple years ago.

Accordingly, I decided to pair it with this Alexander McQueen Tartan dress with an attached leather corset, a tartan patterned tights, and a spiked Rebecca Minkoff shoulder bag. Because this look may be too edgy for some, I say tone it down by pairing the spiked heel with skinny jeans and a tee or dress it up with a body con dress, a cocktail dress…the possibilities are endless. You just have to own the look you choose.

How do you choose to express your edgy side? How else would you style this Tartan Plaid and, or spiked boots? I’d love to hear your thoughts…leave me a comment below.

Thanks for stopping by…xoxo

I think a lot of people mindlessly say something/s they’re thankful for but the focus remains the food and the shopping afterwards, LOL. I never heard of National Tartan Day. So cool, we learn everyday. I love this look. SO MUCH! Very chic, very edgy.
