Hello Lovlies and welcome!

The Parisian Chic look

Trench coat dresses are a thing of elegance and sexiness, wouldn’t you agree? A modern twist to the classic and timeless look of trench coats, it exudes an air of fabulousness and the effortless Parisian chic look…a sartorial goal of many a fashionistas, myself included. Trench coats originated as coats worn by British soldiers during WWI to ward off the harsh elements while at war, and subsequently stylized and perfected for civilians by Burberry fashion house. They come in various lengths, styles, and fit.

Trench Coat dress + Cloche hat (OOTD)

Todays look is a trench coat dress + Cloche hat. This here, is my favorite trench ( I have owned this for over a decade and still love it), because it adds an air of class and elegance to every look. I love it for it’s simplicity and versatility. Despite it’s simplicity, it exudes an air of non-chalant elegance, sexy and well put together look, without even trying.

The Trench coat dress serves as a transitional piece for both spring to summer and summer to fall… heck even winter to spring. Because this particular version of trench coat dress has a fit and flare bodice, it lends a flattering, feminine silhouette. I kept the trench sash because I wanted the visual color continuity.

However, to amp up my style, and add some edginess, and class to my look, I paired it with these super cute Leopard print platform heels, which is my current obsession. As you well know, from my previous posts here, hereand here, animal print will add a sexy, edgy, and well put together vibe to your look. In addition, for an interesting and demure vintage flair to my look, I added a cloche, or bell shaped hat.

Finally, I chose this orange handbag, previously seen here, for an unexpected pop of color. Do you love trench dresses? Would you try them? If yes, and they are right up your alley, go ahead, and give it a try….and while you’er at it, Flip up you collar for that confident chic, city girl look 😉

Alternate Styling Tips

Here is my take on other styling options for this look.

  • Pair them over skinny jeans or ankle pants for that easy going, effortlessly chic look
  • Ditch the trench sash for a structured, wide belt to give a more popping waist definition.
  • Recreate the vintage femme fatale look by pairing with a floppy hat as I did
  • Drape over your shoulders with an underlying LBD, for an uber cool, street style fashionista flair
  • In the fall/winter, pair with knee high or ankle hight boots for a sexy, edgy look.
  • Pair over shorts with frayed edges for a boho chic vibe

Tell me, how else would you style this look? However you choose to style it, wear it with poise and confidence!

See you next week…Ciao!!
