Wrap it Up Babe!
Howdy y’all! Welcome back, and thanks for visiting. Hope you had a fantastic week, despite fraught emotions resulting from the outcome of the election. I take comfort in the fact that God is sovereign, therefore, nothing comes to pass outside of his will. Now that the election season has wrapped up, things and emotions are hopefully returning to normalcy. We can now get back to the business of fashion, not that it was ever suspended.
Bargain Fashion
Moving on! It’s boot season y’all, and I’m so excited to style this wrap dress + knee-high boots for Fall. So, a friend of mine introduced me to this uber upscale consignment store where I snagged these, brand new, unworn Jimmy Choo boots! My wallet loved it too, because it was at a fraction of the retail price (💃🏽💃🏽). I still have reservations about preowned clothing though, but if you’er lucky, you can find unused items such as these boots.
Also, Lemme let you in on a little secret, one you probably already know…I usually purchase my nail-biting investment pieces during end of season sales events. It may be sold out, you say, (and that would be a nightmare)…I know, sometimes I miss out because I waited, but most times I’m lucky. The key is to go early, shop online, or check other stores for availability. That being said, if I really wanted it, and can’t stop thinking about it, what the heck, I just get it…retail therapy never hurt anyone. Besides, it keeps the economy running smoothly…hehe!
Back to my dress. This asymmetrical color blocked BCBG Maxazria runway wrap dress is super sexy. The pastel color blocking and asymmetrical hem creates and unexpected sophisticated silhouette, which I fancy, a lot. Also, it has a tie sash for waist definition, which you know I love, if you’ve been following my posts. The dress also comes with some versatility. First, in my opinion, the dress is seasonless, and so can be worn all year round with a few modifications. Secondly, there’s 2 different styling options…like I show here, or with the neck area draped down.
Styling Options
At any rate, to achieve the look I envisioned, and also for a little warmth, I layered this wrap dress over a light weight turtle neck top for a simple, yet sophisticated and effortless look…pity the pics did not turn out as expected due to our gloomy Texas weather today 😞
Although I have worn this dress in the spring with nude pumps and an off white handbag. Another option of styling this dress would be to carry an animal print purse or clutch, for a bold statement and a more updated on trend look. In any case, I decided to carry this pale pink Halston Heritage shoulder bag, previously styled here and here, for a muted contrast.
What are your thoughts? How else would you style this? Leave me a comment below, and thanks for stopping by…
P.S. I just discovered how to use emojis on my MacBook…can you tell? Haha..
